The CLA Diversity Committee invites you to an evening with a diverse panel of judges for an important discussion about making the move from the bar to the bench.
The Justices will speak about their own journeys to becoming members of the bench, any challenges they faced, the steps they took, and the application and interview process, with a focus on their unique circumstances.
Featuring:
- Justice Hafeez Shahbudin Amarshi, Ontario Court of Justice
- Justice Ferhan Javed, Ontario Court of Justice
- Justice Lori Ann Thomas, Ontario Court of Justice
Moderated by: Tonya Kent and Chris Sewrattan, co-chairs of the CLA Diversity committee.
Join us at The National Club, with light refreshments, and network with your fellow members of the criminal defence bar before and after the discussion. You can ask panel members questions about preparing a judicial application, and about what steps in your career can aid your application.
We would ask out of respect for the Justices and the nature of the topic that attendees not record the event.
